A really cool story - of Hoichi the Earless, a blind biwa playing monk who has visions of samurai battles long ago. At the time it was made, Kwaidan was the most expensive film ever made in Japan (preview). The whole movie - which is several hours long consists of four short tales of the weird. Our favorite was the story about Hoichi - which you can download as a dvd iso file. (NTSC).
Been working like crazy doing some serious restoration work to Ugetsu. Frank took on the thankless task of figuring out a way to improve the readability of english subtitles. The process is insane, but the results look terrific. Meanwhile, we are making a lot of database updates and loading some new monster servers with the LikeTelevision video library. The new servers will allow us to double the size of the entire streaming library and have lots of free space left over.
So anyway…. somewhere deep in the bowels of the video servers, i found a few links from our caveman days from last millennium. The first Shameless Self-Promotion Showcase for a movie called the Monitors (which we no longer offer, sorry bout that).
